The City of Brownsville’s Multimodal Transportation Department is modernizing its public transit experience by launching the TransLoc Rider app, which will officially replace the RideSystems app.

The TransLoc Rider app makes trip planning more seamless and accessible. Riders can now track arrivals in real time, view live bus locations, and receive stop-specific alerts all from their smartphones.

“The TransLoc Rider app gives our community a modern, user-friendly tool to make public transit easier and more reliable than ever,” said Gennie Garcia, Deputy Director for Multimodal Transportation. “Our goal is to make sure residents and visitors can travel confidently, whether they’re commuting to work, school, or exploring the city.”

The app also includes a built-in trip planner, is multilingual, and is fully WCAG 2.0 AA accessible.

By consolidating services into one tool, the City of Brownsville ensures residents and visitors have reliable, up-to-date information at their fingertips.

In addition, UTRGV students can use the same app to track UTRGV bus services between the Brownsville and Edinburg campuses, strengthening regional connections and improving convenience.
