The City of Brownsville Convention and Visitors’ Bureau, the Office of Space Commerce, and Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages will celebrate the unveiling of a new community mural in downtown Brownsville with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, July 16.
The mural was created through the Paint the Nation initiative, presented by Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages as part of the nationwide America250 celebration, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States.
Brownsville is the only city in South Texas selected to receive a mural through the initiative. The artwork celebrates the region’s rich culture, natural beauty, and vibrant community while honoring the stories and traditions that continue to shape the largest city in the Rio Grande Valley.
City leaders, community members, and project partners are expected to gather for the ceremony, which highlights Brownsville’s growing public art scene and continued investment in downtown revitalization.
The ribbon cutting will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. at 1200 E. Elizabeth Street, between Gran Mercado and Korner Market in downtown Brownsville.
The event is open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend and help celebrate Brownsville’s newest public art installation.
