BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Scorpion’s Quill, Texas Southmost College’s annual literary and arts journal, is continuing to build participation among students, faculty and staff as it prepares for its next issue.
The journal, which began in fall 2024, accepts poetry, short fiction, memoir, other creative writing, photography, graphic design and traditional art. TSC English Instructor Amanda Utzman said the previous edition drew about 180 submissions and selected work from 56 contributors.
Eligible TSC students, faculty and staff may submit up to three original works during the fall submission period. The selection process removes identifying information before work is reviewed, with students in art and creative-writing courses participating in evaluation.
