In order to accommodate the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the El Jardin Hotel, the Traffic Division of the City of Brownsville’s Engineering and Public Works Department is announcing the temporary closure of East Levee Street.
East Levee Street will be closed on Wednesday, February 25, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The closure will affect the block between East 11th Street and East 12th Street.
The closure is necessary to allow for the setup of a large event tent and seating within the roadway to safely host the celebration.
Appropriate traffic control measures will be implemented throughout the day to ensure public safety and to minimize impacts to the surrounding area. Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly and use alternate routes during the closure.
