The City of Brownsville and its IT Department, in partnership with Dell Technologies, recently hosted the Smart City: Back to School Digital Skills Workshop and Laptop Giveaway at the Brownsville Event Center. The event provided essential tools and training to local families ahead of the new school year.

As part of the event, more than 300 laptops were distributed to qualifying students, supporting educational success and digital access across the community. In addition to receiving new devices, participating families engaged in a hands-on digital skills workshop covering email safety, phone safety, and an introduction to the Microsoft Copilot program.

This program is an essential step toward digital inclusion in Brownsville. By giving families access to technology and the knowledge to use it safely and effectively, we’re helping them succeed in today’s digital world.

The City of Brownsville thanks all partners and families participating in this impactful event.
