The City of Brownsville Department of Engineering and Public Works Traffic Division is advising motorists of temporary daytime lane closures on International Boulevard beginning Wednesday, July 15, as roadway improvement work gets underway. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct striping operations along International Boulevard from the Expressway to Wilson Street, requiring temporary lane closures throughout the day. The work is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 15, and continue through Thursday, July 16. According to TxDOT, the planned lane closures are not expected to significantly impact travel times.
However, motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the work zone, reduce speed, and remain alert for construction crews and traffic control devices. The City appreciates the public's patience and cooperation as these roadway improvements are completed to help enhance safety for all motorists.
