South Padre Island is preparing to celebrate the opening of the new Marisol, or Laguna Madre, Boat Ramp, a public bay-access project that adds a new entry point for boaters on the island.
The grand opening was scheduled for Tuesday, July 21, at 1705 Laguna Blvd. The project marks a notable addition to the island’s boating infrastructure and expands public access to the Laguna Madre for residents, anglers and visitors.
Public boat ramps are an important part of coastal life in the Laguna Madre, supporting recreational fishing, boating, tourism and access to the bay. The new ramp also gives local officials another amenity to point to as South Padre Island continues investing in waterfront access and visitor infrastructure.
Residents and visitors planning to use the ramp should follow posted rules, watch for opening-day traffic and check local city updates for operating details.
