Temporary Street Closure Announced Ahead of Charro Days Celebrations

As the Charro Days celebrations officially kick off on Saturday, February 21, the City of Brownsville Traffic Division within the Department of Engineering and Public Works is advising residents and visitors of a temporary street closure in the downtown area.

East Elizabeth Street between East 4th Street and East 5th Street will be closed beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, and will remain closed through 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21.

The temporary closure is part of preparations for Charro Days festivities and is intended to ensure the safety of participants, attendees, and motorists during the celebration.

City officials will have appropriate traffic control measures and signage in place to help guide drivers and minimize disruptions. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternate routes when possible, and exercise caution when traveling near the event area.

The City of Brownsville appreciates the public’s cooperation and looks forward to a safe and successful Charro Days celebration.
