B-Metro expands accessibility with ADA paratransit service

The City of Brownsville, through B-Metro, continues its commitment to accessible public transportation by offering curb-to-curb ADA Paratransit Service for qualified individuals with disabilities. The service, available at a fare of $2.00 per trip, ensures residents with mobility or accessibility challenges have reliable transportation within the community.

To qualify, individuals must apply for eligibility determination. Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Be unable to independently board, ride, or disembark from a fixed-route accessible vehicle;
  • Be unable to access fixed-route transportation because it is not available at the time needed; or
  • Be unable to reach designated pick-up or drop-off points on the fixed-route system.

Reservations for ADA Paratransit Service are accepted during regular business hours on a “next day” basis. Schedules are subject to change, though B-Metro makes every effort to maintain reliability.

For more eligibility information, or to apply, residents may contact Paratransit Services at (956) 541-8381 or through Texas Relay at 711 or (800) 735-2989 (TTY).
