Curbside recycling program now active in Brownsville

The City of Brownsville has officially launched its curbside recycling program, with routes now active and serving neighborhoods throughout the city.

This citywide initiative makes it easier than ever for Brownsville residents to recycle from the comfort of their homes. By participating in the program, residents are helping to reduce waste, protect the environment, and keep our community clean.

As the program rolls out, residents are reminded of what can — and can’t — go in the recycling bins:

What to Recycle:

  • Clean paper and cardboard
  • Plastic bottles and containers
  • Aluminum and metal cans

 Do NOT include:

  • Plastic bags
  • Food waste
  • Styrofoam
  • Clothing
  • Electronics

Improper items can contaminate the recycling stream and delay the sorting process, so it’s important to recycle right.

Together, we can build a greener, more sustainable Brownsville.
