Brownsville residents are invited to kick off the new year by connecting directly with Mayor John Cowen Jr. at the first “Coffee with the Mayor” event of 2026. The casual community conversation will take place on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Brownsville Public Library Main Branch, located at 2600 Central Blvd.
The event is designed to provide residents with an open and welcoming space to share questions, ideas, and concerns while enjoying a cup of coffee with the Mayor. Community members are encouraged to attend whether they wish to actively participate in discussion or simply listen and learn more about the direction and future of the City of Brownsville.
“Coffee with the Mayor” aims to strengthen communication between city leadership and residents by creating meaningful, face-to-face engagement opportunities in a relaxed setting. Topics may range from neighborhood issues and city services to long-term goals and initiatives shaping Brownsville’s growth.
The event is free and open to the public, and no registration is required. Residents are welcome to attend and take part in the conversation.
