A growing community initiative at the Brownsville Public Library System is giving residents a chance to share their love of plants while helping something new take root.
The Plant Exchange at the Main Library is blooming thanks to generous donations from library patrons. The exchange now features a variety of plants that community members can take home for free.
The idea is simple: take a plant, leave a plant.
Residents can bring a plant from home and exchange it for one from the library’s collection. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just starting to develop a green thumb, the exchange offers a fun way to discover something new while sharing plants with neighbors.
After making an exchange, participants are encouraged to sign the gardener’s log, helping the library keep track of the plants finding new homes throughout the community.
The Brownsville Public Library System thanks everyone who has donated and helped the Plant Exchange continue to grow and thrive.
Ready to make a trade? Stop by the Main Library, 2600 Central Blvd., bring a plant, and see what’s blooming!
