HARLINGEN, Texas – Harlingen water and sewer customers will see higher utility charges beginning Oct. 1 after city commissioners approved new rates.
For common residential meters inside city limits, the minimum water charge will increase from $9.91 to $12.39. The minimum sewer charge will rise from $7.73 to $9.66.
Harlingen Waterworks said the added revenue will help fund water and wastewater projects, including capacity improvements at the wastewater plant, replacement of a major wastewater line and replacement of a lift station in north Harlingen.
