BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Brownsville Metro will waive bus fares for all riders on Election Day, Nov. 3, transit officials said.
The free service is available to everyone, not only voters. Brownsville Metro said the program is intended to reduce transportation barriers for residents who plan to cast a ballot.
Transit Manager Simon Ortiz said the system generally carries more passengers on Election Day, although the agency does not track how many riders are traveling to polling places.
Residents should consult Brownsville Metro schedules and Cameron County election information before traveling to vote.
