The Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation has extended the application deadline for its Quality of Life Grants to Dec. 15, giving nonprofits, public agencies and eligible community partners additional time to submit proposals for projects that improve daily life in the city.
The grants support a wide range of initiatives, including community infrastructure and beautification, recreational and sports facilities, health and wellness programs, safety and accessibility improvements, environmental sustainability efforts, tourism-related amenities, technology and innovation projects, and education and skill-building opportunities. Projects must be located in Brownsville, open to the public, shovel-ready and aligned with BCIC’s mission and statutory eligibility.
The application review process considers community impact, project readiness, budget and leverage, alignment with BCIC’s 2025–29 strategic plan and organizational capacity. Applications that include environmentally sustainable components may receive additional points.
For Fiscal Year 2026, the program can fund up to 80% of eligible project costs. BCIC encourages organizations to review guidelines and consult with staff before submitting.
