Special to BTXToday – The Brownsville Animal Regulation and Care Center is excited to announce its participation in the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Spring National Empty the Shelters™ initiative. From May 1 through May 15, the shelter will host a special reduced-fee adoption event, giving the community a chance to provide loving homes to needy pets.

During this two-week event, dog adoptions will be free of charge, and cat adoptions will be available for just $20. With a wide selection of cats and dogs ready to find their forever homes, it’s an ideal time for prospective pet owners to take the next step.

The Empty the Shelters™ initiative, sponsored by the BISSELL Pet Foundation, aims to reduce the financial barrier to pet adoption and promote animal welfare nationwide. Since its inception, the program has helped tens of thousands of pets find homes.

Brownsville residents and surrounding communities are encouraged to visit the shelter during the event and meet the many pets ready to become part of their families.
