City of Brownsville

City Commission

The Brownsville City Commission is the City’s legislative body, your neighbors elected to set policy, pass local laws, and guide priorities that shape daily life. The seven-member Commission (Mayor, two at-large Commissioners, and four single-member district Commissioners) adopts the budget, approves major projects, and provides oversight of City services under the City Charter. Meetings are open to everyone, with agendas, minutes, and videos available online. You can add your voice through Public Comment, contact your Commissioner, or serve on an advisory board. Explore how decisions are made, find your district, and get involved in building Brownsville’s future.
