Pedro Cardenas

City Commissioner, District 4

Pedro Cardenas serves as City Commissioner for District 4 in the City of Brownsville, Texas. He first assumed office in June 2021 and will begin serving a second term in June 2025. Commissioner Cardenas ran on a platform focused on transparency in government, accessibility, and community-centered leadership.

During his time on the City Commission, Cardenas has supported initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, strengthening public safety, and advancing economic development. He works collaboratively with fellow commissioners and City departments to ensure progress that benefits the entire Brownsville community.

Known for his responsive and approachable leadership style, Commissioner Cardenas actively engages with residents through public meetings, community events, and social media. He regularly participates in City Commission meetings held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at Brownsville City Hall.

Before serving in public office, Cardenas was involved in local community initiatives and developed a strong understanding of the priorities of Brownsville families. He brings experience in business administration and account management to support data-driven decision-making and long-term planning for the city.

Commissioner Cardenas earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Tecnológico de Monterrey in 2003 and remains committed to helping build a stronger, more inclusive future for Brownsville.
