BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Brownsville Independent School District has adopted a $578 million operating budget for the 2026-27 school year.
The budget, approved by the Board of Trustees on June 23, will support district operations, educational programs, student services and the needs of campuses and departments across BISD.
Trustees also approved a compensation plan that includes a $1,300 increase for all teachers, a starting teacher salary of $57,000 and salary increases for professional and classified employees.
