Brownsville Parks & Rec launches ‘Learn to Swim’ program for all ages

The City of Brownsville Parks and Recreation Department is making a splash this summer with the return of its popular ‘Learn to Swim with Paddles the Pup’ program, a community-focused initiative aimed at teaching essential swimming techniques and water safety skills to residents of all ages.

With summer in full swing, there’s no better time to ensure your child is water-safe. The program offers structured, supportive swim lessons for beginners, with certified instructors guiding participants through fundamental swimming techniques and life-saving water safety habits. But the initiative isn’t just for kids, adults are encouraged to join as well.

The program is part of the department’s ongoing commitment to health, wellness, and safety in the community. Featuring Paddles the Pup, the beloved swim mascot, the sessions are designed to be engaging, educational, and fun.
