Brownsville preparing to launch citywide citizen survey

The City is preparing to launch a citywide citizen survey to measure public satisfaction and identify community priorities.

City leaders say the survey was requested during a recent City Commission retreat to better understand how residents feel about city services and what improvements they would like to see in the future.

The questionnaire is expected to include topics such as customer service, building permits, drainage, streets, park maintenance, and wellness programs.

Officials say the survey will be distributed across all income levels and neighborhoods to ensure balanced and transparent feedback from the community. City officials and commissioners say the results will help guide future planning and decision-making.

“Once we obtain these results, obviously, we want to create an action plan to see how we can improve the services where we have deficiencies, and in those services that we’re doing great, what can we do to make them better,” said Doro Garcia, Assistant City Manager.

The survey is expected to roll out within the next four to six weeks, with the results to be made available to the public once the data is collected and analyzed.

The report highlights the scale of development underway across Brownsville and the region.
