The City of Brownsville, joined by city and state leaders, celebrated the groundbreaking of its future Public Safety Complex at the GBIC Tech Park, located along FM511 between Old Alice Road and Paredes Line Road.

The 99,980 square-foot, two-story facility will serve as a centralized hub for vital public safety operations, bringing together the Brownsville Police Department, Fire/EMS, the Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, and the Information Technology and Cybersecurity Department.

The Complex, designed by architecture firm Megamorphosis, Inc., will serve as a modern, multi-functional hub focused on strengthening service delivery and advancing emergency preparedness.

During the ceremony, officials unveiled the first set of design renderings, showcasing a modern, state-of-the-art space designed to meet the city’s growing needs.

Once completed, the Public Safety Complex will enhance collaboration among critical departments, improve emergency response capabilities, and support the safety of residents across the community.
