The City of Brownsville congratulates Stacey Araujo, the winner of a brand-new PlayStation 5, awarded through a special giveaway tied to the Brownsville Parks, Health, and Recreation Master Plan survey.
Stacey was one of more than 1,500 residents who completed the survey, which is helping shape the future of Brownsville’s parks, health initiatives, and recreational services. Her input and many others will play a vital role in guiding improvements, expanding programs, and prioritizing investments in public spaces and community wellness.
City Manager Helen Ramirez, ICMA-CM, AICP, and Parks and Recreation Director Sean De Palma presented Stacey with the PlayStation 5 Wednesday, June 11, at City Hall Chambers.
“I filled out the survey because I know how important parks are for children and the public,” Stacey said. “I’m happy the Parks Department is not just collecting feedback, they’re actually improving. They’re not just taking a survey for nothing.”
The Brownsville Parks, Health, and Recreation Master Plan will be a strategic roadmap for enhancing the city’s parks, trails, recreational facilities, and public health programming over the next decade.
