Dinosaurs are taking center stage once again at Gladys Porter Zoo with the opening of Dinos Unleashed, a limited-time exhibit running this Friday, February 13, through April 5.
The immersive exhibit invites guests to step back in time and explore a series of prehistoric habitats designed to build excitement at every turn. Visitors will move through dense landscapes and wide-open plains, home to towering herbivores, before coming face-to-face with powerful predators.
Realistic scenery, sound effects, and motion combine to create a dynamic experience that culminates in a dramatic final encounter with a Tyrannosaurus rex, where guests can stop for a photo opportunity.
Making its debut at Gladys Porter Zoo, Utahraptor is among the exhibit’s most anticipated highlights. Recognized as the largest raptor species ever discovered, the Utahraptor was significantly larger and more powerful than its better-known relatives. Zoo officials say the addition offers guests a rare and exciting look at a predator few have encountered before.
Designed to be both educational and entertaining, Dinos Unleashed aims to spark curiosity and inspire learning about prehistoric life while providing a memorable experience for visitors of all ages. Zoo staff note that the exhibit’s limited-time run makes it a special attraction for the spring season.
Dinos Unleashed will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during regular Gladys Porter Zoo hours. Tickets are $5 per person and may be purchased at the Zoo entrance, at the exhibit, or online at gpz.org.
