First Friday is back, and Downtown Brownsville is getting ready to rumble!
On Friday, October 2, beginning at 7:00 PM, Market Square and the surrounding downtown district will come alive for Mucha Lucha, a colorful First Friday celebration featuring the excitement of lucha libre, along with live music, local vendors, food, art, entertainment, and plenty of opportunities to explore downtown.
Best of all, First Friday is free and open to the community.
Whether you come with friends or bring the entire family, First Friday offers plenty of ways to make a night of it. Visitors can stroll through the downtown blocks, grab a bite at a local restaurant, browse shops and vendor booths, enjoy live performances, and discover activities happening throughout the evening.
This month, attendees can expect an added dose of high-flying excitement as lucha libre takes center stage, bringing the energy and spectacle of Mexican wrestling to the heart of Downtown Brownsville.
Getting around will be easy, too. The free BTX Connect Shuttle and pedicabs will operate throughout the evening, providing convenient options for traveling between First Friday activities and downtown destinations.
More than a night out, First Friday gives the community an opportunity to come together while supporting the restaurants, shops, vendors, artists, musicians, and entrepreneurs who help give Downtown Brownsville its unique character.
Each month brings a different First Friday experience and another reason to rediscover downtown. October’s Mucha Lucha celebration promises an evening where culture, entertainment, community, and local businesses come together, with a little lucha libre action thrown into the mix.
