RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas – UTRGV administrator Linda Ufland Romo has received Mexico’s Ohtli Award, recognition given to people outside Mexico whose work supports Mexican communities and strengthens ties with the country.
The recognition reflects Romo’s work in higher education and community engagement in the Rio Grande Valley, where cross-border relationships are a significant part of the region’s civic and cultural life.
The Ohtli Award is among Mexico’s highest honors for people living outside the country who assist Mexican nationals and promote Mexican culture and heritage abroad.
