BROWNSVILLE — Former Mexican President Vicente Fox called for compassion, respect, and cooperation between nations during a keynote speech Monday at the TSC Performing Arts Center as part of RGV Startup Week.
Addressing local leaders, students, and entrepreneurs, Fox emphasized the importance of love and mutual respect in leadership and diplomacy, warning against unilateralism and economic isolation. He spoke on the value of migrants to national growth and highlighted the success of economic cooperation between Mexico and the U.S., particularly in the automotive sector.
Fox also advocated for a collaborative North American front in dealing with global competitors like China and urged future entrepreneurs to seize current economic opportunities.
The former president avoided direct political criticism but alluded to concerns about U.S. economic policy, tariffs, and border issues. He closed with a message encouraging continued partnership and goodwill between neighbors.
