The Gladys Porter Zoo, in partnership with Tipton Hyundai, has announced a special two-week ticket giveaway for its newest attraction, the Soaring Eagle Zipline. This dual-rider experience offers guests breathtaking aerial views of the Zoo, the Rio Grande, and even into neighboring Mexico.
From Monday, August 11 through Friday, August 15, and again from Monday, August 18 through Friday, August 22, the first 200 visitors each weekday who say the phrase “I want to soar with Tipton Hyundai” at the admission gate or membership office will receive a complimentary zipline ticket. The promotion is valid on weekdays only, and tickets are issued on a first-come, first-served basis for same-day use. Standard Zoo admission is required, and participants must meet ride height and weight requirements.
Zoo Director Dr. Patrick M. Burchfield expressed appreciation for Tipton Hyundai’s support. “The Tipton family has been a cherished partner of the Gladys Porter Zoo for many years, consistently demonstrating their commitment to our community and our mission,” Burchfield said. “This initiative is yet another way they help create memorable experiences for the families we serve.”

The Soaring Eagle Zipline, which opened July 9, 2025, is the first project completed under Phase I of the Zoo’s 10-year Master Plan. At over 120 feet high, it offers panoramic views and a thrilling ride designed to enhance the visitor experience and boost regional tourism.
