The eBridge Fund is BCIC’s low-interest loan for Cameron County small businesses that may not qualify for a conventional bank loan or want a more competitive rate. Loans run from $15,000 up to $50,000, with a fixed rate set at 75% of the Wall Street Journal Prime Rate (a 3.00% floor, 10.00% cap) locked in when your loan is approved. And because it is a revolving fund, every payment you make goes back out as the next entrepreneur’s loan.

The AFP Texas Coastal Bend Chapter is hosting a Lunch & Learn on Thursday, August 6, and the Brownsville session is right here at the eBridge Center. Amy Canterbury, Development Director for the AHA Heart Ball, will walk nonprofit professionals through a fresh approach to event sponsorship, treating it as a mission-driven partnership instead of a one-time transaction.
You will leave with practical tools to design sponsorship opportunities that line up a sponsor’s brand with your organization’s purpose, measure whether they actually worked, and build partnerships that outlast the event itself. Lunch is provided, virtual attendance is available, and the session is approved for CFRE credit.

BIG RESULTS
District 1 applications are closed. Here is how the first round of BIG LIFT did: the campaign reached more than 766,000 people, drove over 5,500 visits to the application page, and 27 businesses started an application. 13 of them finished.
District 2 opens September 1, 2026. If your business is in District 2, 3, or 4, fill out the interest form now so you are ready the day your application opens.
CALLING ALL FOUNDERS
1 Million Cups Brownsville gives local founders a few minutes to present what they are building to a room of people who actually show up to listen. It happens regularly at the eBridge Center every Wednesday at 9:00 a.m., and the format is simple: you present for six minutes, then the room asks questions and offers feedback for another twenty.
Founders walk out with new connections, honest input, and sometimes a new partner! And if you are not ready to present yet, come sit in. We’ll have your coffee ready.
SWEET WEEK
Last week belonged to Brownsville’s youngest entrepreneurs! As an Official Sweet Spot for Lemonade Day, the eBridge Center filled with lemonade stands run entirely by kids.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by, brought cash, and cheered them on, and to the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce and H-E-B for making Lemonade Day happen. Some of these kids will be applying for real business loans one day. You saw them first! 🐣
