LOS FRESNOS, Texas — Firefighters extinguished a warehouse fire in rural Cameron County over the weekend after flames broke out at a building containing a large quantity of charcoal.
The Los Fresnos Fire Department responded with firefighters and water-tanker support. Images released by the department showed crews directing water into the warehouse while working to contain and extinguish the fire.
Officials reported that the fire was fully extinguished. No injuries were reported.
Authorities did not immediately announce the cause of the fire, the extent of damage to the warehouse or an estimated financial loss.
Warehouses containing combustible material can require extended water supply and monitoring because heat may remain inside stacked products after visible flames have been controlled. Officials did not report whether crews remained at the property for additional monitoring.
