Special to BTXSentinel.com – The City of Brownsville’s Department of Health, Wellness & Animal Services (Wellness Division) invites all participants of The Challenge RGV 2025 to the program’s midpoint weigh-in this Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 9 AM to 12 PM at Monte Bella Trails Park at 2485 Alton Gloor Boulevard.
This weigh-in marks an important milestone in participants’ health journeys, allowing them to track their progress and stay motivated. Attendees will also have the opportunity to earn additional stickers for their Challenge RGV participant cards. While attendance is encouraged, it is not required to complete the program.
The Challenge RGV is an annual health initiative led by the City of Brownsville in collaboration with UTHealth Houston School of Public Health in Brownsville and other community partners. This three-month program encourages residents to adopt a healthier lifestyle by providing free access to gyms, exercise classes, health screenings, cooking workshops, and community runs/walks.
While weight loss is a primary goal, The Challenge RGV focuses on discovering fitness and wellness opportunities available throughout the Rio Grande Valley, making healthy living more accessible and enjoyable for all.
