Roadway Improvements Underway at Morrison Road and Pablo Kisel Boulevard Intersection

The City of Brownsville Engineering and Public Works Department’s Streets Division began roadway and concrete improvements today at the intersection of Morrison Road and Pablo Kisel Boulevard. The project will be completed in two phases to repair damaged concrete infrastructure and improve the roadway surface while minimizing disruptions to motorists and nearby businesses. Beginning today, Monday, July 20, 2026, City concrete crews are removing and replacing damaged curb and gutter, along with one Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant pedestrian ramp at the southwest, northwest, and northeast corners of the Morrison Road and Pablo Kisel Boulevard intersection.

Crews will complete work on one corner at a time, with temporary daytime lane closures in place as needed. The intersection will remain open throughout this phase of the project. Curb and gutter work is expected to take less than one week, weather and field conditions permitting.
