South Padre Island is preparing for its annual Fourth of July beach parade and fireworks celebration.
The walking beach parade is scheduled for July 4, with line-up beginning at 9 a.m. at Beach Access No. 8 at Whitecap Circle, between East Redsnapper Street and East Swordfish Street. The city says people and pets are welcome to participate.
Fourth of July fireworks are scheduled for 9:15 p.m. in the Entertainment and Arts District at Stillman’s Landing.
