The Brownsville George Ramirez Performing Arts Academy – Revival of Cultural Arts (ROCA) hosted an art contest with separate divisions for children and adults, connecting creativity with scientific innovation.
Educational booths provided hands-on learning experiences for attendees of all ages, while free giveaways and activities ensured broad community participation. Food trucks and local downtown restaurants accommodated festival-goers throughout the evening.
The festival’s free admission structure ensured accessibility for all community members, reinforcing its role as an inclusive celebration of science and innovation. The event successfully combined educational programming with entertainment, creating opportunities for families to engage with space exploration concepts in an approachable setting.

The success of the 2nd Annual Space Festival reflects Brownsville’s positioning as a significant player in Texas’s aerospace industry. The event’s growth from its inaugural year demonstrates community interest in space-related programming and education.
Festival organizers have not yet announced plans for the 2026 event, but the strong community response and vendor participation suggest continued expansion. The festival has established itself as a signature event that combines Brownsville’s aerospace ambitions with its commitment to community engagement and STEM education.
