BROWNSVILLE, Texas — The Texas Southmost College men’s soccer team closed out its preseason in convincing fashion Tuesday night, earning a 4-0 victory over Lone Star SC.
Jose “Tacho” Garcia, Carlos Garcia, Filiberto Rodriguez and Christian Bradley Cervantes each found the back of the net for the Scorpions, giving TSC four different goal scorers in its final tuneup before the regular season.
The shutout provided the Scorpions with momentum as they prepare to open their season with back-to-back road matches this weekend.
“We finished preseason the right way — with a win,” said TSC Men’s Soccer Head Coach Mario Zamora, director of Recreation Center and Athletics Operations. “Now we turn the page. New season. Looking forward to a great start to the season on the road!”
TSC will face Jacksonville College on Friday before taking on Tyler Junior College on Saturday.
The weekend road trip will mark the beginning of a new campaign for the Scorpions as they look to build on a strong preseason finish.
