BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Acting U.S. Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling visited Texas Southmost College to discuss workforce education and the region's need for trained employees.
The visit highlighted TSC programs that connect students with careers in health care, technical fields and other growing industries. College and regional leaders discussed the importance of credentials, apprenticeships and employer partnerships.
TSC said the visit provided an opportunity to show how community colleges can respond quickly to local labor-market needs.
