Brownsville Animal Regulation and Care Center seeks community support for puppies and nursing moms

The Brownsville Animal Regulation and Care Center is asking the community for a helping hand as the shelter cares for an influx of puppies and nursing mother dogs who need extra support during their earliest and most vulnerable days.

Every day, staff members work to keep these young animals healthy, comfortable, and safe as they grow strong enough to eventually find loving homes. With so many puppies and their mothers currently under care, the shelter is in need of essential supplies that help maintain clean spaces and provide comfort for both moms and their babies.

Donations such as newspapers, puppy pads, towels, blankets, and other basic care items play a vital role in the animals’ daily care. These items help staff keep kennels clean, reduce stress for nursing mothers, and ensure that the puppies have a warm and supportive environment while they grow. When community members donate supplies, they directly help the shelter team provide the care and attention these animals deserve.

The center is currently accepting items including puppy and kitten formula, new or gently used towels and fleece blankets, newspaper, TheraPet dog and cat diffusers, dog and cat beds, collars, harnesses, leashes, KONG dog toys, peanut butter, pet thermometers, grooming brushes and clippers, nursing bottles, and other essential pet care supplies.

Each donation—big or small—helps make a meaningful difference in the lives of these animals and gives them a safer, healthier start.

Community members who would like to help can drop off donations at the Brownsville Animal Regulation and Care Center located at 416 FM 511, Brownsville.

Through the continued support of the community, BARCC can ensure that every puppy and nursing mom receives the care, comfort, and safe start they deserve.
