Small Wins at TSC Help Boxer Discover a Passion for Helping Others

Texas Southmost College alumnus Eric Molina says his time at TSC helped him build the confidence and discipline that later shaped his work as a teacher, boxer and mentor.

Molina, a Rio Grande Valley native from Raymondville, enrolled at TSC after graduating from Lyford High School and spending time in the workforce. He went on to earn associate and bachelor degrees through UTB/TSC before becoming a special education teacher.

He later pursued a master degree while teaching and competing professionally in boxing. His 17-year boxing career included world heavyweight title bouts against Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua.

Molina says the support he received from professors and mentors helped him discover a passion for helping others, both in education and beyond.
