SpaceX is preparing for another Starship test flight from Starbase, a launch that could once again draw spectators to South Padre Island, Port Isabel and other viewing areas near the lower Texas coast.
The flight is expected no earlier than Thursday, July 16, with a 90-minute launch window beginning at 5:45 p.m. Central time. Backup opportunities were listed for July 17 and July 18 if conditions or technical issues delay the attempt.
The mission would be Starship’s 13th integrated test flight and is expected to include the first deployment of operational Starlink V3 satellites from Starship. The test profile also includes a planned booster splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico and continued testing of the upper-stage vehicle.
Launches from Starbase have become major regional viewing events, especially from South Padre Island, where residents and visitors often gather along public waterfront areas to watch activity across the water near Boca Chica.
Anyone planning to watch in person should monitor official closure notices, weather conditions and public safety guidance before traveling. Launch schedules can change quickly because of technical, weather or regulatory factors.
SpaceX is also expected to stream the launch online for viewers who do not travel to the area.
