BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Visitors made 8.2% fewer trips to Brownsville during the summer but spent 18.9% more, according to a new data report from the Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation.
The findings are included in the organization’s latest Data Report, Insights & Projections, or DRIP, which reviews visitor activity, local business patterns and development across the city.
The report said discount and dollar stores are gaining ground, while El Pato recorded the largest increase in visits among the metro area’s busiest restaurant brands. Houston remained Brownsville’s largest outside visitor market, according to the report.
BCIC’s report also tracks activity across the city’s four commission districts, more than 120 development projects and consumer trends heading into the holiday season.
