Amazon delivery station opens in Brownsville, boosting speed and economic growth

The wait is over, Brownsville. A new Amazon delivery station on FM 511 officially opened this week, bringing faster deliveries and new momentum to the city’s growing logistics and economic landscape.

The 62,000-square-foot facility, located at the intersection of FM 511 and Paredes Line Road, will play a key role in Amazon’s delivery network, helping packages reach customers across the region quickly and efficiently.

Delivery stations power what Amazon calls the “last mile” of its fulfillment process. Packages are first shipped from Amazon fulfillment and sortation centers to the delivery station, where they are sorted, loaded into delivery vehicles, and sent out for final delivery to customers’ homes.

The Brownsville facility is part of Amazon’s continued investment across Texas. Since 2010, the company has created more than 86,500 full- and part-time jobs in the state and invested more than $84.3 billion in infrastructure and employee compensation.

According to Amazon, those investments have contributed an additional $97.7 billion to the Texas economy and have helped create more than 65,000 indirect jobs across industries ranging from construction and logistics to professional services.

With the facility now open, the new Brownsville delivery station marks another step forward in strengthening the region’s connection to one of the world’s largest e-commerce networks while bringing faster service to local customers.
