BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Brownsville residents will have additional opportunities to dispose of unwanted electronic equipment through city electronic waste collection events.
The program is intended to keep computers, televisions, monitors and other electronics out of regular trash and illegal dumping sites. Electronic devices can contain reusable materials as well as components that require specialized handling.
Residents should review the city’s event notice before arriving to confirm collection dates, hours, locations and the types of equipment that will be accepted. Participants may also be asked to provide proof of Brownsville residency.
City officials encouraged residents to remove personal information from computers, phones and storage devices before surrendering them for recycling or disposal.
