BROWNSVILLE, Texas – The City of Brownsville has extended its Tu Salud ¡Sí Cuenta! health and wellness program through Sept. 30, 2027.
The program is operated through a partnership between the city’s Department of Health, Wellness and Animal Services and the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health in Brownsville. It provides educational outreach, preventive services, health screenings and community support intended to help residents make healthier lifestyle choices.
Brownsville’s City Commission approved an amendment to the agreement Oct. 6. The amendment increases authorized compensation from ,000 to an amount not to exceed ,000 to support expanded needs and continued services.
The initiative also promotes physical activity and community conditions that support overall well-being, the city said.
