BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Brownsville Fire Department crews contained a structure fire Tuesday morning near Cavazos Road and Camino de la Tierra after a three-car garage, shed and shop became fully engulfed, authorities said.
Firefighters were dispatched with three attack units, an aerial unit, a heavy rescue unit, an EMS medic unit and supervisory personnel. The department said the fire was under control by about 9:15 a.m.
Crews remained at the site for overhaul work and to watch for possible rekindling. No injuries to occupants or fire personnel were reported.
The cause remains under investigation. The department asked the public to avoid the area while emergency operations continued.
