Los Fresnos Business-Readiness Sessions Offer Free Support to Local Owners

LOS FRESNOS, Texas – Local business owners can receive free guidance on financing, business planning and growth through a monthly series organized by the Los Fresnos Community Development Corporation and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The Business Ready sessions are intended to connect entrepreneurs with information about lending, real estate and other resources that can be difficult for small businesses to navigate on their own.

Empowered Counseling Services, a family-owned practice that opened in Los Fresnos in 2021, is among the businesses that has used the program. The practice has grown from two employees to a staff of 10, according to its clinical director, Griselda Alaniz.

Los Fresnos Economic Development Coordinator Jeffrey Rosas said the effort is designed to support existing businesses while the city works to attract additional restaurants, coffee shops and medical services.

The community development corporation plans to continue the monthly sessions through the end of the year.
