Brownsville invites community to shape the future of Parks and Recreation

The City of Brownsville Parks & Recreation Department is calling on residents to help shape the future of local parks, programs, and recreational spaces through a new community engagement initiative.

As part of its ongoing commitment to building a more inclusive and vibrant city, the department is gathering public input on potential improvements and new amenities. Residents are encouraged to share their ideas, whether it’s the addition of indoor pools, enhanced walking tracks, or the creation of inclusive sensory rooms designed to serve all members of the community.

Residents are also invited to attend one of several in-person Community Engagement Series events taking place across the city:

  • Gonzalez Park, Urban Center – 34 Tony Gonzalez Dr.
  • Saturday, April 18 (10 AM–12 PM)

Linear Park / Farmers’ Market – E. 6th St. & Ringgold

City leaders encourage residents to bring their neighbors, families, and ideas to these sessions to help guide future investments in parks and recreational programming.
