BROWNSVILLE, Texas — Brownsville Independent School District plans to offer free influenza vaccinations during campus open houses scheduled across the district in November, pairing the clinics with opportunities for families to meet teachers and review student progress.
According to information reported about the district’s outreach, the vaccinations will be available during evening open-house events. The district’s published schedule lists early college high school open houses for Monday, Nov. 9; elementary school open houses for Tuesday, Nov. 10; and middle school open houses for Thursday, Nov. 12. Each event is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Families should confirm vaccine eligibility, consent requirements and clinic availability with their child’s campus before attending. School-based vaccination events can help families access preventive care outside regular medical-office hours, particularly as respiratory illness season advances.
The district’s open houses are intended to give parents and guardians time with campus staff while students’ academic needs, attendance and support services can be discussed. Families are encouraged to contact their campus for any changes to the schedule or for questions about the vaccination program.
