BROWNSVILLE, Texas — Dennet Road will be temporarily closed Saturday, Nov. 7, for the Ride the Blue Wave 5K and 1-Mile Run/Walk, an event connected to World Diabetes Day 2026.
The closure will affect Dennet Road between Paredes Line Road and Tradition Circle from 6 a.m. to noon, according to the City of Brownsville. Temporary traffic-control devices, barricades and signs will be used during the event, and the Brownsville Police Department will provide traffic assistance.
The city encouraged motorists to plan alternate routes and allow additional travel time. The closure is intended to support a safe route for participants and the public while the event is underway.
