The City of Brownsville, the Valley Baptist Legacy Foundation and Blue Zones have launched a Blue Zones Ignite partnership focused on community well-being.
The initiative will assess opportunities to improve healthy lifestyles, social connections and quality of life in Brownsville. Blue Zones is conducting a Gallup poll assessment to gather residents’ perspectives and identify local priorities.
The information collected will help shape a long-term plan for improving wellness throughout the community. The initiative will examine policies, systems, streets, surroundings and social networks that can make healthy choices easier.
A free Blue Zones Ignite Brownsville Community Keynote Event is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 2, from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. at the Brownsville Events Center.
