BROWNSVILLE, Texas – The Flight Academy of South Texas and Brownsville Independent School District are developing a pathway intended to give high school students access to pilot-training opportunities.
The partnership was announced Sept. 25 and is expected to connect students with aviation education and career exploration as the regional aerospace and aviation sectors continue to grow.
The organizations said the effort is designed to introduce students to aviation coursework, flight training and related careers. Details on enrollment, costs, program requirements and the first participating campuses were not included in the announcement.
The program adds to a growing group of South Texas education and workforce initiatives tied to aviation, aerospace and transportation careers. Families interested in the pathway should watch for additional information from BISD and the Flight Academy.
